Services for children and young people

“Getting it Right for Every Child”

Midlothian Council's Education and Children's Services Division are committed to making sure Midlothian's children and young people have the best possible start in life and are given opportunities to realise their full potential. To ensure that we "get it right for every child" (GIRFEC) we must aim that each child and/or young person are:

  • Safe
  • Healthy
  • Active
  • Nurtured
  • Achieving
  • Respected
  • Responsible
  • Included

We do this by providing additional services to those children and/or young people and their families who require it. We do this (where appropriate) by:

  • Giving information on other services
  • Providing assessment for you, your child, or for others (such as the Children's Hearing System)
  • Providing support and intervention to children and families with assessed needs
