Consultations - Midlothian Orbital Bus STAG: How can we improve bus travel along four corridors?

We asked you to please use the Placecheck tool to or the virtual consultation room (link removed) to tell us what you think of bus stops, park and ride facilities and existing bus priority measures, such as bus lanes, along the four corridors.

You could also use the tool to help us understand how we can make it easier for you to get to your nearest bus stop by walking, wheeling or cycling.

How to use the Placecheck tool:

1. Sign up by using the link at the top-right of the screen (if you have not already done so).
2. Log in. This will make the Placecheck buttons appear.
3. Use the button for the type of marker you would like to add - the green button for ‘Add something I like’, the red button for ‘Add something I don’t like’, and the orange button for ‘Something we need to work on’.
4. Click on the map where you want to make a comment.
5. Select 'Confirm Location'.
6. Enter details about what it is and why you are adding it.
7. Select 'Save'.

Your map pin was then saved to the map and everyone will be able to see it. You could return to your map pin later to edit or delete it, but you cannot edit or delete a marker that someone else has posted.

You could use the tool until Friday 19 August and your comments, but not your names or email addresses, may be used in final reports for this project.

More about the study

This consultation is part of a study called the Midlothian Orbital Bus STAG.

We are working with the regional transport partnership for South East Scotland, SEStran, and we’ve commissioned transport consultants AECOM to complete the study.

The Midlothian Orbital Bus STAG, which is funded through Transport Scotland’s Bus Partnership Fund (BPF), is being undertaken in accordance with the Scottish Transport Appraisal Guidance (STAG) process.

At later stages, it is anticipated you will have the chance to give feedback on bus priority options emerging from the study via an online survey. It is also anticipated there will be a limited number of drop-in sessions.
