This consultation is now closed. We asked for the views of tenants, those on the waiting list and other stakeholders on how we allocate council housing. -
Outcome
Councillors considered the findings of the consultation in March 2024. Views expressed in the survey shaped the approved Housing Allocations Policy.

319 surveys were completed and 20 people attended the public drop-in sessions.

The key changes considered and discussed as part of the consultation exercise included:
- The allocation model – how we allocate i.e. needs groups / points / combined
- Reviewing the number of points awarded for housing circumstances
- Further expansion of the Incentive to Move Scheme to encourage tenants to downsize into smaller properties
- Nominations to agencies such as Women’s Aid, HM Forces Veterans etc to be reviewed and highlighted in the policy with more information
