Looking to join a walking group?

Take those first steps to a healthier lifestyle and meet new people with Ageing Well's new Loanhead Health Walk, every Thursday at 10am. 

The walks, which start at Loanhead Library, last for approximately 1 hour and are suitable for all abilities. Please ensure that you wear appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear.

Signalong for Families

Signalong is a sign based communication system that you can learn along with your child and your family.

Signalong sessions are practical learning sessions with a range other family activities offered too.

National Volunteers Week - Straiton Pond Community Litter Pick

A community litter pick to help clear up Straiton Pond nature Reserve. It's National Volunteer Week, so why not join in for 15 minutes or even the whole 2 hours! We will provide all the equipment.

Primary Schools' Art Exhibition 2018

Female astronauts, colourful dragons and busy ladybirds are just some of the stunning artworks gracing the McSense Conference Centre at this year’s annual Schools’ Art Exhibition.

Art exhibition 2018
The event, when many of the county’s young artists showcase their talents, is on from Saturday 2 June until Thursday 7 June (not including Sunday). The centre will be awash with colour as the primary pupils display a vast range of artworks from sculptures to collages and crafts.

The free exhibition is open from:

  • 10am to 4pm on Saturday 2 June
  • 10am to 5pm on Monday 4, Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 June
  • 10am until noon on Thursday 7 June

The schools’ art exhibition is organised annually by the council's arts development officer Cheryl Aird and is now into its 19th year. The art chosen alternates yearly between primary and secondary schools.
