Positive Inspection for local school
St Andrew’s RC Primary School has been rated as ‘good’ for the quality of its learning, teaching and assessment in both the primary school and nursery.
A team of Inspectors from the Scottish Government education standards body, Education Scotland, visited the school in June this year. During the visit, they talked to staff, parents, carers and children.
The inspection team found the following strengths in the school’s work:
- Welcoming, friendly and enthusiastic children who are keen to engage in their learning and are proud of their school.
- Nurturing and inclusive relationships across the school and nursery between the staff and the children resulting in a positive and warm learning environment where children feel safe and happy.
- The commitment of all staff to improving their professional skills and knowledge, leading to positive outcomes for children.
Cllr Ellen Scott, Cabinet Member for Education congratulated the staff, pupils and parents:
“Well done to everyone in the school community for helping to achieve such a positive inspection. There is no doubt that the commitment and enthusiasm shown by both staff and pupils has resulted in such a commendable inspection and I congratulate them all.”
Leader of Learning Joanne Hunter said
