Have your say on community justice in Midlothian
The Midlothian Community Justice Partnership is inviting everyone who lives, works or studies in Midlothian to share their views on making communities feel safer and reducing reoffending.
Community Focused
Community justice is where people who have broken the law are held to account and supported to reconnect and contribute to their communities. Where it is safe to do so, individuals may receive community-based sentences such as unpaid work, addiction treatment, fines, compensation, or restrictions like electronic tagging and curfews.
Evidence-Led
Evidence shows that community justice can help people stop offending, leading to fewer victims and safer communities.
Keeping Communities Safe
Fiona Kennedy, Chair of the Community Safety and Justice Board, said: “Community justice is about supporting people to make positive changes while keeping communities safe. I would encourage everyone to participate in the survey as this will help towards making Midlothian a safer place to live, work, visit, grow up and grow old.”
