New Advertising Opportunity Hits the Road in Midlothian
Midlothian Council is teaming up with Roadvert to launch a new initiative offering local businesses the chance to advertise on the side of waste service vehicles.
Helping the council and the economy
The partnership aims to generate income to support council services while helping local businesses boost their visibility across the region.
Roundabouts also available
The move comes a year after the council teamed up with CP Media to give local businesses the opportunity to advertise on 30 local roundabouts.
Get noticed
With council vehicles covering thousands of miles in high-footfall residential areas every week, this mobile advertising platform offers a way for businesses to get noticed.
Brand awareness
Research shows that vehicle advertising reaches far more people than traditional static adverts — making it a smart, cost-effective way to grow brand awareness and attract new customers.
Flexible options
Whether a business is small or part of a national campaign, there are flexible options to suit different budgets and goals. Roadvert will work with businesses to tailor campaigns to deliver results.
Additional income
Midlothian Council Leader and Cabinet Member for Income Generation, Councillor Kelly Parry said: “At a time when all councils, including Midlothian, are facing tough financial challenges, this initiative is another creative way to bring in additional income — helping to protect and sustain essential services for our communities while supporting the local economy.
May expand the scheme
“The roundabout advertising project generated more than £14,000 of income to the council in the first few months of launching after costs were taken into account. So, if this latest venture is successful, the council may look to expand the scheme to include other vehicles in our fleet.”
