Lasswade library and pool update

Lasswade Library will reopen as normal on Monday 5 October. The library has been closed since Wednesday 23 September because of a roof leak after heavy rain.

Other facilities

The school, leisure facilities and café are all currently operating as normal.

Swimming pool

However, the swimming pool at the Lasswade Centre will close for essential planned maintenance from Monday 12 October for approximately four weeks.

Changing room improvements

As well as the necessary work, improvements will be carried out to showers, poolside drainage, changing facilities, lockers and décor while the pool is empty.

External cleaning and updated landscaping

The closure will also coincide with the removal of scaffolding around the building, followed by cleaning of the school façade and improvements to landscaping at the front of the site.

To avoid further disruption

Completing all of these works at the same time will help minimise future disruption and provide a refreshed environment for customers.

Regular customers informed

Schools, clubs and regular users have already been informed to allow alternative arrangements to be made.

Reopening

We expect the pool to reopen in November and will provide updates throughout the works.
