Grounds for appeal or review

Only the applicant may request a review or appeal against the decision on a planning application.

Reasons for review or appeal may be:

• against refusal of your application
• against unreasonable conditions on your permission
• because it has taken longer than the statutory period to make a decision.

An appeal can be made against a Planning Committee decision. The Scottish Government Reporter deals with appeals. The Reporter's decision is final.

A delegated decision made by a planning officer may be reviewed by the Local Review Body (LRB). This is an internal group made up of local councillors. The LRB decision is final.
