Public Consultation to launch on proposed Midlothian Local Development Plan 2
Today Midlothian Council agreed to launch a 12-week public consultation on the proposed Midlothian Local Development Plan 2 (MLDP2). The consultation will open on 30 June.
What is MLDP2
MLDP2 will guide planning decisions in Midlothian for 10-years, from 2027-2037.
It sets out where development should and should not happen, including plans for new homes and employment opportunities, while protecting important environmental and historic assets. The plan aims to support the creation of sustainable, inclusive and accessible places across Midlothian.
How to take part
From 30 June, residents, organisations and other stakeholders can share their views on the proposed MLPD2 through the council’s online consultation hub.
Printed copies of the consultation will also be available in all Midlothian libraries and at Fairfield House in Dalkeith.
Current Local Development Plan
The existing Midlothian Local Development Plan will remain in place until it is formally replaced by MLDP2.
