Health and social care integration

Midlothian health and social care partnership

Midlothian Council and NHS Lothian work in partnership, governed by the Midlothian Integration Joint Board (IJB).

This means working as a team, with joint responsibility and accountability.

In brief, GPs, hospitals, health workers, social care staff, voluntary and independent care providers, and others share information, and co-ordinate planning and service delivery - putting people first.

Our vision

That people will lead longer and healthier lives by getting the right advice, care and support, in the right place, at the right time.

We will achieve this by:

  • supporting people to stay healthy and well
  • making it easy to get health and social care services
  • providing excellent quality care, treatment and support.

What we're doing

The IJB plan their services over a number of years. You can download them in more detail below:

This explains what we are planning to do to improve health and social care services. It is based on a joint needs assessment and the views of the public.

This explains how we will ensure we have the right staff to deliver the Strategic Plan.

Each year our progress and plans for the future can be followed through both our Delivery Plan and our Annual Performance Report.
