Local family history societies

There are a number of independent research groups in Midlothian, most of which have been running for many years. They have extensive knowledge of their area, and are a valuable resource for any researcher in local or family history.

These groups hold regular meetings, talks, and other events. Sometimes these take place at Midlothian Libraries and are open to the public.
