Early Learning and Childcare

• Contact the Early Learning and Childcare setting or childminder you would like your child to attend after your child's second birthday.

Primary 1

• Register your child at one of the catchment schools stated in their letter. Register online from 9.00am on 17 November to 23 November 2025.
• Information about registering for P1

Secondary 1

• If you want your child to attend the catchment school stated in their letter you do not need to do anything.
• Information about starting S1

Apply for a non-catchment school

• Register your child at one of the catchment schools stated in their letter. Register online from 9:00am on 17 November to 23 November 2025.
• Submit a placing request online before 15 December 2025

All other year groups

• Email pupil.placement@midlothian.gov.uk with your child's name, date of birth, address and details of their current school and the school you are looking to move to. If you are relocating to the area please include your expected entry date.
