We have changed how we collect your recycling:
- You have a NEW green bin for paper, card and cardboard.
- Your blue bin is only be for plastic bottles, tubs and trays, steel and aluminium cans, and cartons.
- There may be a change to the day we collect your blue, green and grey bins. These will be emptied on a three-weekly cycle.
Delivery of your new Green bin
- Green bins have been delivered between mid-January and 23 March 2026. If your bin has not arrived email: greenbin@midlothian.gov.uk
- Green bins will be delivered to the boundary of residential properties. In the case of an assisted pullout service, bins will be delivered directly to where they are stored.
- You have received a letter notifying you of the change of service. If your collection day changes, we have let you know.
- For some properties, alternative shared recycling facilities will be provided, and you will be contacted separately regarding these.
