2021 Scottish Parliament Election

The Scottish Parliament election is on Thursday 6 May.

If you are 16 or over, live in Scotland and are on the electoral register, you can vote.


You may want to vote in person or apply for a postal vote. You must apply for a postal vote by Tuesday 6 April. Alternatively, you can appoint someone you trust to cast your vote for you, either in person at your allocated polling place, or by post if they apply for a postal vote to vote on your behalf.
