Scottish Government Cost of Living Award
The Scottish Government is providing a £150 award to those who qualify, to help tackle the cost of living crisis. You qualify if you get Council Tax Reduction or are liable for Council Tax and living in a property in Council Tax Bands A to D. You do not need to pay it back.
No need to apply
You do not need to apply for the award. If you qualify, your Council Tax account will be credited and your bill will be reduced. Details will be included with Council Tax bills, arriving by post from Wednesday 23 March.
Others who qualify
Some people living in a property exempt from Council Tax, and those who are accessing Housing Support Services and/or living in temporary accommodation or a refuge, may also qualify. Cheques will be issued to those who qualify in these categories by the end of April. There is no need to contact the council before then.
