This week marks 25 years since the Genocide in Srebrenica, where over 8,000 Bosnian Muslim people were murdered.
Awareness of Genocide
Remembering Srebrenica is a charitable organisation which aims to raise awareness of the Genocide and to bring people together to tackle hatred and help build safer, stronger communities.
Stand up to hatred
Since its creation in 2013, a staggering 100,000 young people have been educated on the lessons from this Genocide and nearly 7,400 memorial events and activities have taken place supported by 1,450 community champions who have taken a pledge to stand up to hatred and intolerance in their communities.
Make a difference
As a community, we all know the importance of choosing kindness over hate - wherever there is a human in need, there is an opportunity for kindness and to make a difference.
Please take some time this week to spread #KindnessMidlothian to one another and to help us all stand up to hatred and intolerance wherever it may be found.
