Memories Groups

Our reminiscence groups at Dalkeith, Gorebridge, Loanhead and Penicuik Libraries offer a relaxed and welcoming space to look back, chat and share memories. Whether reflecting on favourite pastimes, local people or significant moments, these friendly sessions are a chance to connect with others, spark conversation and enjoy a trip down memory lane. Free to attend, they’re a great way to meet others and boost wellbeing in a warm, supportive setting.

Run in partnership with Memories Scotland, a national project using archive photographs, film and media to explore everyday life in Scotland, the groups provide a social history focus. Themed resources encourage participants to reflect on how life has changed, share personal stories and celebrate the heritage of their communities, supporting memory stimulation and meaningful engagement.
