Free Travel on Community Bus - on the 800 Community Bus Service, running between Pathhead to Penicuik during its six-month trial period.
Free Bus Travel for Young People - free nationwide bus travel for young people aged 5–21 with a valid National Entitlement Card or Young Scot Card.
Free or Discounted Bus Travel for Over-60s - free or reduced fares for people aged 60 and over through the National Entitlement Card scheme.
Free Bus Travel for Disabled People - free bus travel for eligible disabled people with a National Entitlement Card.
Help with other travel costs
Help with Healthcare Travel Costs - support with travel expenses for NHS appointments if you receive certain benefits or have a low income.
Railcards - save on rail fares with discount cards for young people, seniors, disabled passengers, and more.
Low-cost travel options
Ring & Go - a pre-booked taxi service for people in areas with limited bus access, offering fixed-rate journeys to connect with local bus routes. Discounted fares available to scheme members with a valid Ring & Go card.
Dial-A-Bus Midlothian - a door-through-door service to major shops for people of all ages with limited mobility. Free for concessionary travel pass holders.
Active travel options
Hire a Bicycle - rent a foldaway bike from Sheriffhall Park & Ride for £5 per day. Ideal for short journeys and exploring Midlothian’s cycle paths.
