Customer Notice 

Due to a Scottish Swimming event, the swimming pool and health-suite will not be available on Saturday 24 October and Sunday 25 October.

Swimming and health suite use will be available at Loanhead Leisure Centre and The Penicuik Centre.

Centre Updates

  • The jacuzzi is currently unavailable. We apologise for the inconvenience and will update on repairs as soon as possible. The steam room and sauna remain open.
  • Our reception phone number has now changed to 0131 392 2208. 

Opening Hours

Please note swimming pool and health suite opening hours differ from gym and reception opening hours. Please see swimming pool timetable.

Opening hours from 17 August 2026:

Gym and reception:

  • Monday to Thursday: 06:00 - 21:00
  • Friday: 06:00 - 20:00
  • Saturday and Sunday: 07:00 - 16:00

Activities and classes

Shared Facility Notice

Please note that our centre is a shared site with Newbattle High School. Because of this, our facilities experience peak times when students are using the spaces.

To help you plan your quieter workout or swim, please note the following:

  • Pool: please view our pool timetable, which details busier periods.
  • Gym: the High School may use the gym for PE classes Mondays-Thursdays between 0845-1515 and Fridays between 0845-1200. Tues/Wed/Thurs there is also a teenzone session from 1530-1700.

Teenzone

For health and safety reasons, we have restrictions on gym and health suite use by under 16s. Please contact the centre for more information.

Teenzone sessions for the gym are on the following days and times-

  • Tuesdays 15:30-17:00
  • Wednesdays 15:30-17:00
  • Thursdays 15:30-17:00

Teenzone users can attend these sessions unaccompanied. Any use out with these sessions users must be accompanied by an adult 18 or older.
