There are currently five polling places and 11 polling stations in Dalkeith.
As at July 2019, the total electorate is 10,779, 8,977 of whom vote at a polling station while 1,802 have a postal vote.

The proposals are for four polling places and 11 polling stations. Our aim would be to keep schools on the proposed list open and to make a separate entrance available in schools for voters.
