Spring 2026 COVID‑19 Vaccination
The Spring COVID‑19 vaccine is being offered to people at higher risk of serious illness from COVID‑19.
You do not need to contact the service unless advised.
People who are eligible will be contacted automatically by letter, text or email, depending on their preferences.
Who is eligible for a Spring COVID‑19 vaccine?
You may be offered a vaccine this spring if you are:
- A resident in a care home for older adults
- Aged 75 or over by 30 June 2026
(born on or before 30 June 1951) - Aged 6 months or over with a weakened immune system
(born on or before 1 October 2025)

Housebound patients
- Calls to housebound patients have started and will continue into June 2026
- Home visits will take place from mid‑April to June 2026
- Housebound patients have already received a letter and do not need to contact us
Please only get in touch if:
- You no longer require a home visit, or
- Your contact details or circumstances have changed
Care homes and Midlothian Community Hospital inpatients
- All care homes in Midlothian have been given planned visit dates starting 13 April 2026 to end of June 2026.
- Vaccination staff will visit wards at Midlothian Community Hospital from mid‑April to the end of June 2026 to vaccinate inpatients
Vaccination Clinics in Midlothian
Most clinics are appointment only.
Please arrive at your scheduled appointment time.
Important: Some clinics take place in GP premises, but GP practices do not provide vaccinations.
Vaccinations are delivered by local HSCP vaccination teams.

Other vaccination programmes
RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus)
- The older adult RSV programme is paused for Spring 2026.
- This allows services to focus on COVID‑19 vaccinations.
- Care home residents will still be offered RSV at the same time as their Spring COVID‑19 vaccine.
- Eligible patients will be contacted automatically.

Shingles and Pneumococcal vaccines
- These programmes are paused and will restart in Summer 2026.
- Eligible patients do not need to contact the service.

Flu vaccine
- The 2025/26 flu campaign has ended.
- Flu vaccination will restart in Autumn 2026.
