Council to work with Rosewell community on hub plans
At a full council meeting on Tuesday, councillors heard the trust had made good progress in securing a derelict site at Rosewell Mains Steading. The aim is to turn it into a community cafe, local produce market, arts and crafts centre and general community facility.
Council Leader, Councillor Catherine Johnstone said: “The trust has made good progress and the council will continue to work with it to provide financial, technical, legal and marketing support. We will also make sure the building works remain on time and on budget. Having looked at the proposed business plan, we feel there’s still scope to approach at least one more external funder to bridge the funding gap.”
