Bonnyrigg Christmas Lights Ceremony

This year’s Christmas lights in Bonnyrigg will be switched on at 4.30pm on Saturday, 2 December.

Temporary road closures

Temporary road closures and bus diversions will be in place for the event which will see Bonnyrigg Primary School pupils Holly Malcolm and Ross Yuill switch on the town's festive lights for 2017. 

Campview Road will be closed between the car park and Polton Street from 6.00am to 6.00pm on Saturday while Polton Street will be closed between the Toll and Dobbie’s Road from 3.30pm to 5.00pm. 

Services 31 and 49 affected

Bus diversions will also be in place between 3.30pm and 5.00pm for the big switch on.

The 31 and 49 buses will not be able to access Polton Street during those times - the 31 will carry on down Dundas Street, Cockpen Road and operate to and from Hopefield.

Meanwhile, the 49 will turn left onto Dundas Street, go onto Cockpen Road and then onto the B6392 Bonnyrigg bypass to Rosewell.
