Newbattle Community High School’s Peak Performance Academies project won a prestigious national award for excellence.
The Midlothian school was named as the winner in the SOLACE Best Team category in the 2012 COSLA Excellence Awards for their groundbreaking Peak Performance Academies project.
The school also won a silver award for the project in the 'Achieving Better Outcomes' category.
The COSLA Excellence Awards are held annually and aim to showcase 'the very best of Scottish local government'.
A 'School of Ambition', Newbattle Community High School is working with its pupils to develop excellence through the arts and sports, encouraging pupil involvement while enhancing pupil leadership skills.
