What bus services can I use?

Note: Bicycles are not permitted on Lothian/East Lothian buses with the exception of folding bicycles if they can be stored in luggage areas on the bus.
Note: Bicycles are allowed on most X62 buses. Buses can be tracked (including showing if bicycles are accepted on a specific bus) on Border Buses website.
Borders Railway and station
The Borders Railway is a great way to incorporate active travel into your longer journeys. No bike reservation tickets are required to bring your bike onboard, making it easier and more flexible to take your bike with you to explore Midlothian and beyond.
If you want to leave your bike behind, every train station in Midlothian has free covered cycle storage.
