Adults in a snowboarding class

Four-week lesson blocks let you build your confidence and skills from week to week, and fit in any extra practice between sessions.

Saturday: 09:30 - 11:30

  • 19, 26 September, 03, 10 October - Beginner
  • 24, 31 October, 07, 14 November - Intermediate
  • 28 November, 05, 12, 19 December - Beginner

Sunday: 14:00 - 16:00

  • 20, 27 September, 11, 18 October (excluding 04 October) - Intermediate
  • 25 October, 01, 08, 15 November - Beginner

Prices

Prices include instruction, snowboard, helmets, boots, knee pads and use of uplift.

Levels

Beginner 

  • Basics of technique
  • Control of speed and direction
  • Side slipping & diagonal side slipping
  • Safe use of uplift - tow and chairlift when available.

Level 1: Heel and tow edge side slip from green path/full length of nursery slope 
Level 2: Diagonal side slip on heel and tow edge from first red path

If you miss the first class you can not attend later classes. 

Intermediate - able to use the tow to the middle station & perform diagonal side slip on both toe and heel edge

  • Introduction and development of turning
  • Garlands on both heel and toe edges
  • Improve steering skills
  • Introduction to basic turns
  • Controlled descent from the top

Level 3: Garlands on heel and tow edge, controlled descent from second red path 
Level 4: Basic turns on lower slopes, controlled descent from the top (face) 
Level 5: Controlled basic turns from first red path.

Advanced - able to turn consistently from the first red path and ride, in control, from the top station

  • Linking turns together
  • Turn on steeper terrain
  • Short radius and long radius turns
