Parking tickets
Challenge a parking ticket
You can only appeal in writing. You will need the parking ticket reference (beginning MC) and vehicle registration.
Or write to
Parking services, Midlothian Council,
PO Box 804,
Sheffield,
S98 1RY
Our parking attendants record the time, date and location of the fine. They take photos of the vehicle, signs and road markings. You can view these photographs a day later.
We aim to respond within 28 working days and your ticket will be put 'on hold' and no further charges will be applied until we reply.
If your challenge is successful
If your ticket is cancelled a Notice of Acceptance will be sent to you and you will not have to pay the fine.
If your challenge is unsuccessful
If your challenge is unsuccessful you will be sent a Notice of Rejection.
If you do not agree with our decision find out how to appeal a Notice of Rejection on mygov.scot website.
A parking adjudicator will make the final decision.
