Taste the difference! Voting gets underway to find Midlothian’s favourite places to eat and drink
Do you have a favourite cafe, restaurant, hotel or bar in Midlothian? Have you been particularly impressed by the quality of the food and drink on offer and with the standard of service you received?
If the answer’s yes, now’s the time to get voting in the 2017 Midlothian Food and Drinks Awards, organised by Midlothian Tourism Forum and Midlothian Council.
There are 7 categories in this year’s awards – best place for a coffee, best place for a pint, best cafe lunch, best restaurant lunch, best place for dinner, best place for a takeaway and best customer service. The public can vote on the first six categories while the customer service category will be judged by ‘mystery shoppers’.
You can cast your votes from Monday March 6 until Sunday April 23 on the Visit Midlothian website. Once you’ve voted, you'll be automatically entered for a free prize draw to win two tickets to the gala awards dinner to be held in June.
This year’s awards are sponsored by the Midlothian Advertiser, Ikea, Itihaas, Buccleuch Estate Dalkeith Country Park, Crummock (Scotland) Ltd, Costco, Arthur Mackay and Flowers by Lamb. The competition was launched at a special ‘Pancake Day’ event held at Ikea’s foodhall on Shrove Tuesday.
