Councillors approve community councils' boundary change
Midlothian councillors have approved changes to the boundary between Gorebridge and District and Moorfoot Community Councils.
New and planned housing developments will move into Gorebridge Community Council's boundary
At a full council meeting on Tuesday, councillors agreed the change, which will allow the Taylor Wimpey housing estate and the planned Redheugh housing development – containing 700 new homes – to be transferred from Moorfoot Community Council to Gorebridge Community Council.
The new housing will be using Gorebridge facilities
Councillors agreed that as residents in these new housing developments will be using mainly Gorebridge facilities, it makes sense to put the boundary changes in place.
The public were consulted
The change comes after a public consultation.
