Price increase for sport and leisure facilities
Prices for using Midlothian Council’s sport and leisure facilities and services are to go up by 10% from 1 April.
The fees were agreed back in December 2016
The revised fees and charges were among a package of savings agreed by the full council in December.
The increase will be across the board
The increase will cover Tonezone memberships, classes and entrance fees.
Free swimming will continue
A spokesman said: “We are confident our services and facilities remain good value for money, and can confirm that the free holiday swim sessions for under 18’s will continue”
At a full meeting of Midlothian Council held on Tuesday December 20, 2016, council officials brought forward a new programme of savings for consideration by councillors. Although a number of the proposals were rejected, savings measures totalling £4.5 million in 2017/18 will be implemented in the next financial year starting on 1 April 2017.
