Sharing ideas of a town hall for all
What should a town hall be like in our digital age? Can you imagine a place where you and everyone in the town would feel welcome and come together as a community? A place to gather, to debate and to enjoy your place?
Penicuik Town Hall a priority
Penicuik Town Hall has been identified as a priority for the Penicuik Heritage Regeneration Project – a partnership between Midlothian Council, Penicuik Community Development Trust and Penicuik First.
Year of Young People 2018
As part of the Year of Young People 2018, and in a project currently on display at the prestigious Venice Biennale art exhibition, primary school pupils in Penicuik have been invited to share their ideas for a ‘Town Hall for All’.
Paper chain of ideas
Given Penicuik’s heritage as a papermaking town, their ideas have been captured on 1,329 ‘paper people’ - one for every pupil. The paper chain will be on show in Penicuik Town Hall on Wednesday 13 June from 11.30am to 5.30pm, to help start a whole-town debate about what a town hall for all ages should be like.
So why not pop in, see the paper chain of ideas and add your own! All are welcome.
