Forum for Midlothian farmers
This year’s annual farmers’ meeting, hosted by Midlothian Council, will be held at the Stair Arms near Pathhead on Tuesday, 5 February at 6pm.
Midlothian Provost, Councillor Peter Smaill described the yearly event as “a great opportunity to discuss the many issues facing farmers and others with rural interests here, and further afield.
“The programme reflects current concerns as well as giving us a forum to explore future opportunities,” said Councillor Smaill. “Subjects under discussion include career paths for farmers, technology trends in agriculture, and the effect of new planning guidelines on rural housing.”
Anyone interested in attending should contact Andrew Ralton in Midlothian Council’s economic development team by Friday 1 February.
