Do you have the skills to become a tutor? 

Tutors are needed for an initiative benefitting Midlothian pupils. Queen Margaret University is currently recruiting tutors for the Enhanced Learning Tutoring Initiative (ELTI). 

Supporting Midlothian pupils

In collaboration with high schools in Midlothian and East Lothian, this initiative supports 4th – 6th year pupils most impacted by the disruption of the Covid situation. The initiative is funded by the STV Children's Appeal. 

Subjects

At this time tutors are particularly sought in the subject areas of Maths, Sciences and Computing. 

Weekly sessions

Eligible pupils from seven high schools in Midlothian and East Lothian will be invited to take part in weekly tutoring sessions over two ten-week periods. 

Online and face to face

Tutors are required for both online and in-person sessions before and after Christmas. All tutors will receive training at Queen Margaret University week beginning 26 September. 

Pay

Tutor pay is £15/contact hour and the average number of hours per week is ten. 

Candidates

This role will suit people from a range of backgrounds including fourth year undergraduate students.
