Nature friendly development

The Nature Conservation Planning Guidance (adopted April 2021) (PDF) provides information for developers and others on nature-friendly development:

• designated wildlife sites
• wildlife law including protected species and invasive species
• how Local Biodiversity Sites are designated
• helpful contact information.

It also contains information on ecological assessment and mitigation. The Council expects applicants to consider habitats and wildlife, from initial site appraisal to post construction.
