Pay your planning application fees

Service update

Please submit planning applications and pre-application enquiries online rather than on paper if possible.

The Planning Authority also strongly encourages electronic payment of planning application fees.

Paper submissions and non-electronic payments will take much longer for the Planning Authority to register under our new working arrangements. The Planning Authority will likely write to you to request an agreement to extend the time period to determine the planning application. This is a precautionary measure and will not necessarily mean that there will be a delay.

We appreciate your assistance.

Use the online fee calculator on the ePlanning website to help you to work out the fee you need to pay.

You may need to pay an additional fee if we have to advertise your proposal in the local press. We will notify you if this is the case.

How to pay

Give a reference to the application when you pay. This is so we can match up the payment with the correct application. The reference could be:

  • an online application reference number from ePlanning.scot
  • the site address
  • a planning application reference number (if allocated).

Pay by:

  • credit or debit card over the phone. Call 0131 271 3147.
  • cheque by post.

If you pay by cheque, include the online reference number or Site Address and send it to:
