You can watch a training video to help with the online application.

60+ passes have no expiry date, and don't have to be renewed.

What you will need

  • Mygovscot or Yoti account
  • Proof of your age
  • Proof of your most recent permanent address (not a mobile phone bill)
  • Photo ID (passport or driving licence)
  • Passport style photograph - head and shoulders against a white background, or a camera in your smartphone or laptop so you can take a photo as you apply.
  • A device with a camera or webcam to upload your evidence.

Apply online for 60+ Concessionary travel

Or apply in person

You can apply in person if there are specific reasons you cannot apply online.

Allow up to 8 weeks for paper applications. This may take longer than applying online because we must carry out a number of checks on each application.

  1. Download an application form and guidance or collect from Midlothian Libraries (we cannot post forms).
  2. Return the completed form with all relevant proof to the library.

If you don't have a passport or driving licence

A referee will need to validate your photo. The referee must be someone who:

  • knows you
  • but is not a relative
  • and is a professional, such as a:
    • teacher
    • nurse
    • community worker
    • social worker
    • police officer
    • religious leader.

On the back of your photo, they must:

  1. write "I confirm this is a true likeness of [your full name]"
  2. sign and date it.
