Want to get more involved in your community?

Would you like to get more involved in your community?  Perhaps you would like to join a community group in your area or are interested in setting one up? Then why not contact Midlothian Council’s Communities Team for help and advice? They can help you with things like funding and training opportunities and can connect you with the right people at the council and in other organisations.

Your local Communities Officer

Your local Communities Officer can also advise you on how to set up a formal group with a constitution and a board, and look at ways of linking your group with others in your area to share ideas and resources. They can also link your group with your Community Council and neighbourhood plan and help you look at ways of improving your local neighbourhood.

Find out more

To find out more, and for contact details of the communities officer covering your area, visit the your community pages or telephone 0131 271 3338. You can also complete our online enquiry form to ask us a question.

Neighbourhood Plans

Midlothian Council is also encouraging residents to contribute to their local neighbourhood plans.  These plans set out the priorities of local communities, allowing resources to be targeted to where they are most needed.  They’re one way in which you can help inform the council about what improvements are needed in your area. You can also find a survey form giving you the opportunity to give your views, or telephone 0131 271 3338 for more information.
