With 11.5 miles of countryside paths, open lawns, an events field and landscapes ranging from woodland to wildflower meadow, Vogrie is the perfect place to get active, get creative and get outside.
Outdoor fitness
From sunrise tai chi to high‑energy weekend workouts, Vogrie Country Park gives you room to move. Exercise among wide lawns, woodland trails and open skies – perfect for boosting motivation and wellbeing.
Painting, art and photography
Enjoy creative space surrounded by inspiring views, historic buildings and peaceful corners. Vogrie’s varied landscapes provide an ideal backdrop for outdoor workshops, photography sessions or sketching retreats.
Stargazing and astronomy
Experience the night sky at Vogrie. The park’s open setting and minimal light make it ideal for stargazing events, astronomy evenings or meteor shower watches.
Segway and cycling tours
Explore over 11 miles of scenic paths through the Tyne Valley. Vogrie’s terrain is made for guided cycling rides or Segway adventures – whether you’re running a short session or a full‑day tour.
Charity walks and events
Host your community walk or fundraising event among beautiful scenery. Vogrie’s network of trails and friendly atmosphere make it a great choice for both small group strolls and larger sponsored walks.
Refreshments and catering
After your activity, refuel at the TreeTop Café. Enjoy hot and cold drinks, snacks and light bites – all just a short walk from wherever you’re exploring.
Vogrie House
Vogrie House doesn’t currently have an indoor space for classes or events, but we’re happy to discuss future opportunities.
What’s already happening
Regular park activities include:
- Vogrie Parkrun - mass-participation 5km run every Saturday morning at 9:30am.
- Midlothian Dog Training Club - dog obedience classes on Saturday mornings and Thursday evenings.
Restrictions
Midlothian Countryside Ranger Service run nature sessions such as:
- Wildlife identification
- Bushcraft
- Guided nature walks
- Pond dipping
- Bug box building
Because of these existing activities, we’re unable to accept external applications for similar events.

Cost
