Stobhill launches trade waste and recycling service
From 1 October 2018, local businesses can use Stobhill Recycling Centre to dispose of their waste and recycling.
Open to all license holders
The service, available to all those who hold a waste carrier's licence, will accept all waste with the exception of rubble, uPVC windows or doors, oil and tyres.
Flat rate charge
A flat rate of £100 per visit is charged for all vans up to a gross vehicle weight of 3,500kg. Disposal of fridges/freezers is also available charged at £40 per appliance. Vans towing a trailer, removal vans or vans with tail lifts are excluded.
Encouraging businesses to come forward
"We are delighted to be able to offer this service to local businesses and hope that lots of people will take up the option" says the council's Cabinet Member for Commercial Operations, John Hackett.
Recycle where possible
"We will still of course be offering our waste collection service, but this offers businesses another flexible way to either dispose of waste or preferably recycle it where possible."
Service available from October
The service will operate from Stobhill recycling centre from 1 October 2018.
