National Volunteers' Week

Claire Gillie-Thompson

During National Volunteers’ Week, we’re reminding volunteers to look after themselves as well as helping others. Claire Gillie-Thompson is heeding this advice. Claire, a furloughed restaurant manager, is currently part of a local Loanhead Resilience Group, supporting a local woman who is self-isolating because of health conditions. Here volunteer role and her three-year-old son keep her busy but Claire, an art school graduate, has found time to reignite her love of painting. She’s even entered a few competitions. The painting is a great way to relax, she says, along with Zoom classes by some of her yoga teaching friends.  Well done to all local volunteers including Claire.
