What goes in your green bin?
Your green bin is for recycling clean paper and card.
Place all items directly into your bin – do not use plastic bags. Please flatten boxes to save space in your bin.

Paper
- Newspapers
- Magazines
- Office paper
- Telephone directories
- Brochures and catalogues
- Leaflets
- Envelopes (including window envelopes)
- Shredded paper (please enclose this in a paper envelope, paper bag or cardboard box)
Cardboard
- Cereal boxes
- Cardboard packaging
- Large brown cardboard boxes (once flattened)
- Cardboard tubes

- Food contaminated packaging such as pizza boxes - put in your grey bin
- Padded envelopes - put in your grey bin
- Disposable coffee cups - put in your grey bin
- Used tissues or kitchen towel - put in your grey bin.
- Cans - put in your blue bin
- Plastics - put in your blue bin
- Cartons (such as Tetra pack cartons) - put in your blue bin
- Plastic bags - reuse these
- Batteries and vapes - take to a shop that recycles these or a Recycling Centre
- Clothes and shoes - take to a textile recycling point
- Glass bottles and jars - put in your glass recycling box
- Hard plastic items (e.g. coat-hangers, toys, plant pots) - put in your grey bin.
- Food waste - put in your food waste caddy
- Garden waste - put in your brown bin
- Electrical items - take to a Recycling Centre
