Household Bin collections

Bins (including food and glass) due to be collected on: 

• Thursday 25 December are scheduled for Saturday 27 December 
• Friday 26 December are scheduled for Sunday 28 December 
• Thursday 1 January are scheduled for Saturday 3 January 
• Friday 2 January are scheduled for Sunday 4 January

Place you bin/container out for collection for 06:30am. 

Please keep access roads clear to allow our vehicles to empty bins as we won’t be able to return until the next scheduled collection day, which may be after the festive period.

Where to recycle your festive waste

Our centres are closed: 

• Thursday 25 December 
• Friday 26 December 
• Thursday 1 January 
• Friday 2 January 

Our centres are open but with reduced hours: 

• Wednesday 24 December - close early (last entry) at 11:30
• Wednesday 31 December - close early (last entry) at 11:30

Christmas Tree Recycling

Midlothian Council does not offer separate Christmas tree collections. You can take your real tree to a Recycling Centre.

Bulky uplifts

• The last collection before Christmas is Friday 12 December.
• The first collection after New Year is Monday 12 January.

Brown bin collections do not run over the festive period.
