Opening times and locations

Our recycling centres are open every day. Last entry gives you enough time to empty your vehicle and correctly recycle your waste before the site closes.

The site may be closed with no notice within these times to let us service the skips. We have to do this in opening hours because of the potential noise impact on local homes.

On arrival, tell the staff what type of waste you have brought so they can direct you to the appropriate zone.

Because we are building an extension to our Waste Transfer Station for the upcoming new recycling collection service, we have temporarily removed four skips at Stobhill Recycling Centre. This means the site is currently slower than usual, and you may have to wait longer to unload your recycling—especially at weekends. Thank you for your patience while the work is carried out.

We only accept waste from Midlothian households

So we may ask for proof of residence, such as:

driving licence
council tax or utility bill.
